Jumbo’s was founded in 2021, but our love for sports cards started long before that.

Like so many collectors, owners Doug Mauch and Bobby Wireman rediscovered their passion for the hobby during the pandemic. What started as a return to collecting quickly grew into something much bigger and ultimately became Jumbo’s.

The name itself has a story. Jumbo’s was named after Jumbo the Bulldog, the beloved dog of one of the company’s founding owners. From the beginning, we wanted Jumbo’s to feel personal, a business built by collectors, for collectors.

For Doug and Bobby, sports cards aren’t simply a business. They’ve been part of their lives since childhood, growing up collecting throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Doug is a longtime Nolan Ryan collector, while Bobby collects Barry Bonds, and both still share the same excitement for the hobby today that they had as kids.

At Jumbo’s, our goal is simple: build the hobby the right way. We believe in honesty, integrity, treating customers fairly, and creating a place where collectors genuinely enjoy being part of the community.
